Open Your Minds. Vote for a New Way of Thinking. Vote Obama.

November 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hire someone who wants to tackle the issues of housing, jobs, health care, and education. John McCain is too wealthy and too pampered and too privileged to give a damn about the average American. Joe the Plumber is a foot soldier for McCain to order around. He means well but he has no clue what matters to the average American. He’ll tell you to join the military if you’re worried about health care, jobs, housing and education.  Can’t you hear McCain saying, “My friends, if you’re worried about health care and housing and jobs, why not join the military?  Stand up and serve your country.  Do something to help yourself and your country.  Be an American.  Get up off your lazy asses and join the army, my friends. The army takes care of all of your needs. And while you’re in the military you can help with foreign affairs by following orders and doing what you’re told to do. Your country will thank you for your service.”

The irony of those who were planning to attack and kill African Americans and then go after Obama is that they have anger and hatred that has built up over the last 8 years as a result of Republican policies and that the person who can most help them crawl out from their positions of inadequacy, hopelessness and frustration is the Democratic candidate for president, Barack Obama. The problem for Obama is that his own name is a barrier to getting some people to think differently. While Obama’s campaign is well organized, his name is a marketing nightmare.  To some people his name screams “guilty by association”.  Some will think that Obama’s name sounds too ethnic.  It sounds foreign.  It screws up the image that people have of someone who holds the White House. The American presidency is the most powerful and influential entity in the world. How can Americans hire someone who has a name that sounds so ethnic for a job that is so American? This is where Americans will hold themselves back. They will let their bias and prejudice cloud their judgment and sense of what is right. In the end, Americans and America will fall from grace if they choose to abandon their sense of what is right. If Americans allow the color of someone’s skin or the sound of someone’s name to influence their decision to do what is right, then they have abandoned what is right and just and will begin to lose self respect.  Shall you fall from grace, America or shall you build a bridge to the future that takes us to a better place?

The president of the United States should be the top public servant that responds to the people. That is what the president should be. How was G.W. Bush qualified to be president of the United States, other than his father was the 41st president? Where had George W. been tested? What was his foreign policy experience? Isn’t the test of a president someone who can put together a good team of advisors and be willing to listen and be thoughtful in his decisions?  Shouldn’t a president be able to build a consensus with the people he is seeking to lead? The greatest change that Obama represents for America and the world is a change in attitude. Is it possible that most Americans really have no idea what makes America a unique nation? America is nothing if not an attitude. America is a can-do attitude.  What is America about? Has it lost its way in the world?

Barack Obama is a bridge to the 21st century. He is unique in that he is both black and white. He shares both cultures. He is a bridge culture to a better life. His interests line up with the American middle class better than any presidential candidate who has come before him. You gave George W. Bush a chance to be president for 8 years. Why can’t you give Obama a chance to be president for at least 4 years?

Be inspired. Don’t let your imagined fear scare you from doing what is honorable. Do the American thing. Vote for the guy who is really listening to what America is saying. Vote American. Vote Obama.  This must be the place.

The Rain in Spain Makes John McCain Just Plain Insane

October 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

John McCain is not the voice for America, period. His choice of Sarah Palin, who excited, i.e., titillated the base of the Republican Party, mostly the male base, shows how his entire campaign, and indeed his entire political career, has been all about pandering to those who could help advance his own career. In plain-speak it’s called ASS-KISSING. He has exploited his military service more than anyone. It is shameful the way Senator John McCain has used his imprisonment in a North Vietnamese prison camp to try to bribe votes from voters. Where is his humility? Where is his sincerity? Where is his heroism and true sense of putting country first and making people feel like they matter? How can McCain be an effective president based on the vulgar campaign he has run? He sold his soul and sold out his principles to the Bush Administration which has oozed a sulfurous goo of oil that has bogged us down in pursuit of glory. There’s nothing inspiring about John McCain. Throughout his entire campaign he has engaged in shady race-baiting and gender manipulation.

How can we trust McCain when he has raced all over the map chasing after his lust for power? The trajectory of his philosophy has been as erratic as a North Korean missile headed for the democratic nation of Japan, an American ally, which has suffered the consequences of two atomic bomb blasts, courtesy of America, on its own sacred soil. McCain is 72 years old and has not shown the steadiness that one would expect from someone who is supposed to have wisdom earned through life experience. How can someone like McCain give a damn about the American middle class when he has spent his entire life, from the time he was born, looking down and commanding the middle class from his perch as a military prince, whose forefathers actually fought in the American Revolutionary War? As someone who has come from a military family of the officer class, McCain has grown up watching his father and grandfather order enlisted soldiers from one battle to the next. That’s his perspective on life. As far as he is concerned, it is his privilege and sense of entitlement to order the middle class around because the middle class and below are the ones who have made up the ranks of the United States Military. McCain has 11 houses. He sees the world from an entirely different perspective than most of us do or ever will be able to. He has shown no sense of patriarchy and fair play that one would expect from an American soldier. His maverick moniker that he so proudly flashes around like a shiny badge of authority shows the side of a maverick who does not listen to the opinions of others. He does what he wants and that is a trait that we cannot afford to have in the White House, the most powerful address in the entire world. A maverick as president and a maverick as vice president are a recipe for indecision and instability, exactly what McCain and Palin have shown throughout their bid for the presidency. McCain has been extremely unprincipled throughout his bid to become President of the United States. His idea for health care, employment, housing and financial security will be simply to enlist Americans in the military. His perspective has been begotten by the military-industrial complex that sees the world down the barrel of a gun and over a barrel of oil controlled by American corporations. While we may think that we are protecting American interests around the world, we are not protecting the interests of the American middle class at home.

To speak well is to speak from the heart. “The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain” is not how a real maverick is supposed to sound. John McCain, we have heard you speak and you do not speak from the heart. Your accent sounds too much like George W. Bush, and we know how pretentious and insincere that can be.

A Force for Greed

October 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989, Labor around the world lost a specter that could remind capitalist bosses of the alternative. With management thinking that it had nothing to worry about, greed set in and the bubble economy began to inflate. The bursting of the Soviet bubble was not good news for Labor. By 2000, the tech bubble in the US burst but then moved into real estate and the financial sector and into China. Yes, China is a bubble that is waiting to burst. China has been pretending to hold onto American debt by means of US Treasury bills, but once we realize that they are bankrupt, both financially and ethically, the shock wave will hit even harder. With greed and unethical behavior in the U.S. allowed to run rampant and unregulated, the world economy has now lost confidence in American capital markets. America has proven that it is no longer a moral and ethical leader in world affairs. We cannot manage our own financial well-being and have shown that our belief in the market to solve all problems is unfounded. We have been failing the middle class, the engine of economic growth and prosperity in not only the United States but around the world. American greed has undermined our foundation of democratic ideals and has been failing the middle class just as the Communist Chinese Government has failed the principles of its struggle against class warfare. China has betrayed its own cause.

The rich have stuffed their pockets and Swiss bank accounts with money they stole from the treasury of the common good. The emperor is wearing no clothes! Nations around the world will seriously want to rethink what America means to their own well-being. Maybe the world should stop investing in America so that we have no money in which to wage war. It takes money to wage war and with the banks not trusting each other because they all know that they have been bad and unethical in their dealings with the American public, there is no money left in the treasury in which to wage war. America seriously needs to look within and put its house in order. We are dangerous to the world because we are a danger to ourselves. America is a sick nation, both mentally and physically. Our healthcare system is falling to pieces, our infrastructure is antiquated, our financial system is shattered. It is time to get back to common sense policies. If you can’t understand it, then it probably doesn’t work. A fear to ask questions is a fear of freedom.

When bankers belong to the same clubs and send their kids to the same schools and generally think the same thoughts, a herd mentality that lacks reason and understanding begins to take over and gradually begins to spread through the population. When banks charge fees for everything from picking your nose to withdrawing your own money, it’s a sign that something is wrong. Credit card companies gave away credit cards without checking or verifying the facts. They contributed to identity theft by failing to consider what was ethical. Ethics went out the window and a momentum of unregulated greedy behavior became the norm.

We knew that derivatives were hocus-pocus and that derivatives traders were playing shell games in a house of cards built by the likes of Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns, Goldman Sachs, et al. These scoundrels of scandal have proven that they must be regulated. The party is over. We must recognize unethical behavior and its destructive power before we end up with chronic pain that never completely goes away.

Banana Republicanism is not the answer. Vote Democrat and make them accountable for their decisions. Decisions made by elected representatives in Washington, D.C. truly do affect individuals far from the center of power.

Break the Shackles of Banana Republicanism–Don’t Look Back

October 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

“Uncle Sam” McCain has a plan to solve your housing, healthcare and job needs. His plan is very simple: Join the Army. Your healthcare, housing and employment needs will be taken care of instantly once you join one of the four branches of the US military. They need people to fill boots and fight in Iran. There’s plenty of work for soldiers under a Banana Republican commander in chief.

America, you need to realize that you have been conditioned by racism. Ever since slaves were brought over from Africa, you have been conditioned to distrust blacks. It’s in your DNA to discriminate against those who don’t look like you. You have been conditioned to distrust those whose names don’t sound like yours. It’s not your fault that you are racist. You have been conditioned by institutional racism and discrimination over many decades through politics and the media.

McCain doesn’t care about average Americans. He sees the American people as boots for his military. “Uncle Sam” McCain is a rich Banana Republican. He has no idea what really affects the average American. He is insincere and irritable.

America, don’t let your racism hold you back. Rise to the occasion and show your greatness as a nation. Vote for Obama and help America move forward into a new world of hope and opportunity. It’s time to break out of the chains and shackles of Banana Republicanism. Move ahead. Don’t look back.

Living in a Banana Republican Nation

October 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Monkey King George and his Banana Republicans will not be happy until they have brought the United States to its knees, just as Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaida have always wanted to do. With help from their Banana Republican colleagues, Al Qaida is succeeding beyond its wildest dreams. All they have to do is sit back and relax in their mountain caves in Pakistan and let the Banana Republicans of America do their jobs for them. When you live in a banana republican nation, you swing like a monkey because all you get are bananas. That’s what happens when greed goes unregulated. It leads to pain for the middle class. Greed is good only if you are the one who is getting rich.

The financial crisis is showing that Americans don’t trust each other and the rest of the world has been losing its trust in America. We can’t even trust in God anymore, that’s how badly we have abused the principle of separation of church and state. We sure can’t trust Monkey King George. He has no credibility, and neither does deregulation. How many Americans did our Monkey King send to their untimely  deaths for the sake of WMD that did not even exist in Iraq?  Monkey King McCain will be no different than Monkey King George.

John McCain has shown us that his decision-making style is reckless and irresponsible. He thought he was being smart when he put Palin on the ticket. She has shown us that she’s just not ready for the job. McCain has shown us that his judgment is not sound, and that he will never be ready to be president of the United States. If we put him in office, we will pay a severe price. We will get burned in a way that will cause a complete breakdown in our society. McCain has shown that he will do what he wants to do and to hell with everyone else. His choice of Palin is a stunning testament to how he thinks about important decisions. He’s not on the same page as the rest of us, democrat or republican or anyone else. McCain’s campaign has crashed and burned with Palin as his copilot. He’s a WTF kind of guy.

In the end, however, if Obama is going to win this election, the American people need to vote for the principles of the Democratic Party. They need to vote for the party and its legacy as championed by FDR, JFK, LBJ and WJC. Obama is an American as much as any other American citizen. Obama is an idea whose time has come. He is the American Dream. Don’t let it die. Otherwise you may be cutting off your nose to spite your face. We need to vote for the principles of the Democratic Party if we are all going to pole vault the barriers of racism and sexism that keep all of us from moving ahead into the 21st century. Obama is a chance for America to break out of its morass of ethical dilemmas and move things into a new world of responsible opportunity.

If we go with McCain, we may end up living under a McCainsian type of martial law. Don’t let that happen. You saw what Bush and his Monkey Banana Republicans have done to this country. McCain is not fit to be president. He is an old man with old ideas. McCain is a dead end for the American Dream. Obama is the future of the middle class in America.  If we are going to continue to have a middle class in America, Obama-Biden is the ticket.

Vote Democrat or Monkey King McCain and the Banana Republicans will have us all swinging from the trees.

Republican Convention: Party of Lincoln Ready to Lead America Backwards to Dividing Lines of the Civil War

September 5, 2008 · 1 Comment

The Republican People wave the American flag like it’s the Confederate Flag. They wave the flag and act how much more patriotic and how much more American they are than you and I. The Republican People are desperate. Those at the convention looked like men and women from a religious compound from which they cannot escape. These people show no diversity in their gathering and came across as way too bloodthirsty to be entrusted with the future of a nation as diverse and as compassionate as America.

The speeches given at the convention sounded like a high school pep rally aimed at disparaging the other team in the most humiliating terms. Speechmakers made nonstop juvenile remarks to ingratiate themselves with their friends. It was a most juvenile and immature spectacle to behold. They offered nothing of substance to address the issues affecting the people of America. All they could do was attack like pit bulls that haven’t been fed for days. Pit bull Sarah Palin has shown that she is just another one of the good ole boys. Who does she think she’s kidding? Rudy Giuliani sounded like the class clown making fun of Obama, the black kid with the funny sounding name, while Rudy’s Republican classmates laughed and jeered and goaded him on. It was an embarrassment for the nation to behold this cutthroat, heartless bashing of members of another political party. All you have to do is read between the lines to know just how capable the Republicans are of playing dirty tricks to knock down their opponents.

Republican hypocrisy is really a form of insanity that is meant to look like prosperity which is derived from American tyranny under Republican ideology. The Party of Lincoln is marching us backwards to the dividing lines of the Civil War era. Country First. Service. Sacrifice. These Christian soldiers are intent on pushing us all back to the days of the Union and the Confederacy. Slavery is once more back on the agenda. But this time we are all on the verge of becoming slaves to the Republican Confederacy. If not slaves, then foot soldiers in McCain’s military industrial complex. As far as the Republicans are concerned, the last eight years of Bush never happened. George W. Bush does not exist. The Bush Administration never happened. And the Republicans can prove it! They want a free pass and the best way for them to get it is to play the patriot card.

The Republican convention was nothing less than a war rally. It was war fever in full bloom. We heard nothing but war stories and fish stories, the one that got away, the one that will get away if we don’t elect Warmonger McCain. Maverick McCain. Top Gun McCain. What we saw was a call to war and that’s what the Republicans have to offer–more of the same. They revel in dredging up memories of Vietnam and the horrors of torture camps. They glorified war and its brutality of American values with their sob stories of death and mutilation. They are shameless in their use of scare tactics. World War II was won with the help of a generation of men and women who rose to the challenge when they were needed most. McCain and his Republican cohorts want perpetual war. McCain Economics is War Economics. If you’re in uniform fighting for McCain’s Navy, you won’t have time to complain about your economic woes. You’ll be worrying about shooting the enemy.

Convention speakers exploited McCain’s military record as if that mattered more than his senate record, which ultimately is not that much to speak of. When McCain and the Republicans talk about economics, they are talking about military economics. It’s guns vs. butter. McCain equals guns while Obama equals butter. The issues at stake could not be more stark. Everyone is an enemy in the Republican world view. You’re either for us or against us. War and money is what matters most to McCain Republicans. That’s their culture. That’s their world view.

Country First. That’s Mickey C’s way of preparing America for 100 years of war in Iraq and other hot spots around the world. Convention speeches from people like Leslie Smith, a retired Army captain, are meant to recruit bodies for the Republican military. McCain is a military guy. That’s what he knows best. Obama is a community guy. He believes in service to community, which is another way of putting country first. Community organizing helps to build the country that McCain thinks he founded. Community is what defines Obama. If you haven’t figured it out, McCain’s culture is a military culture that puts people in uniform, taking orders without asking questions. Obama’s culture is a community culture that brings people together and offers opportunities to succeed and build a strong country, from the community up. McCain is all about soldiers saving soldiers, bullets flying everywhere, prison camps, soldiers taking positions, grenades bouncing off chests, unbridled heroism, men leaping on grenades, putting country before self so the Republicans can profit from your patriotism that was programmed by the Republican propaganda spin machine. McCain’s foreign policy does not include the use of diplomats. McCain’s philosophy believes that bullets speak louder than words.

How can McCain talk about putting the country first and honor war veterans when he did nothing to speak out against the smear campaign against Vietnam War veteran and medal recipient John Kerry in the 2004 presidential campaign? What kind of double standard hypocrisy is this? Oh, it’s Republican dirty tricks sanctioned by the power of Jesus Christ and God Almighty. What kind of a reformer did you say McCain is? What has he really done to change the Republican Party? He blows a lot of hot, dusty Arizona air.

We’re either going to be a country that promotes peace, like Obama and Biden, or we are going to be a country that promotes war, disguised as peace, like McCain and Palin.

It’s guns vs. butter. McCain vs. Obama. McCain will put people to war. Obama will put people to work. This election is truly the fork in the road that will determine which path America will take into the 21st century. It’s a decision that will directly affect each of us for many years to come. Choose wisely. Because if John McCain makes it to the White House, he is very likely going to bring back the military draft. That’s what he means by Country First. Service. Sacrifice. Get it?

Now that’s a thought you can take to the bank.

Bush to Buds: Last Call for Rape and Pillage of America

June 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With his demands to Congress to commence offshore drilling for oil exploration, what we are now seeing is George W. Bush making a last call to his monkey pals high up in the social hierarchy of the American jungle to get it now before the Republican Smash and Grab Party is over for the next 100 years. Can you hear the primal cries? It sounds like a “Republicans Gone Wild” video with all of the hooting and hollering going on in the background. Drill! Kill! Drill! Kill! 100 years in Iraq! Bomb Iran! Raise oil prices! Now! Now! Now!

If you want to know why you should vote Republican in November, watch this video. You’ll be glad you did.

Thank You, Comrade McClellan! The People Are Listening to What You Need to Say

May 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

But aren’t you a little late to be blowing your whistle so long after the fact? Did you suddenly come to your senses when you popped out of the “Bush in Wonderland” world you people were living in at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Do you think that this memoir will restore honor somewhere? Maybe it will restore something to the McClellan family name. Future generations of the McClellan clan will bow down to worship and honor you at their altars in Texas, China. Maybe you are on your way to becoming a reformed comrade. Maybe your memoir will inspire other members of your Republican Communist Party to follow your example and write a self criticism.

Say what you need to say, Scott McClellan. Say it for the sake of democracy. Say it for the souls lost in the hellish deserts of the Middle East. Better late than never, Scott McClellan. Better to say what you need to say, even if you could have spoken up earlier to stop your American comrades from dying in Iraq, spilling their blood for the sake of all that you said in support of the president, the glorious commander-in-chief. Do you feel foolish that the rest of the world knew about the deception long before you were even a glimmer in the eye of George W and his cohort of co-conspirators? Yes, you were duped and used like a lot of people, not to mention the 4,000+ soldiers who spilled their precious patriotic blood and died in the sands of a desert far away from the homeland of their birth. Yes, manipulation is a good choice of words. That’s what Republican Communists do. They manipulate, intimidate, leak names of CIA agents and use various sorts of propaganda to force others to do what they want. The American Republican Party could teach the Chinese Communist Party a few things, eh Comrade?

Your memoir is confirmation that the Bush Administration is really the Bush Conspiracy. It is a group of good ole boys who have operated like a conspiracy against American democracy, prestige and honor. The American Republican Guard is as dangerous as the Iranian Republican Guard. Both ideologies are dangerous to world peace and stability. At least your memoir will make us think very carefully about John McCain. He has been part of an administration, read MAFIA, that makes The Sopranos look like boy scouts. McCain is now going to have to explain why the American Republican Party decided to adopt the values of the Chinese Communist Party. The Bush Conspiracy moved into the Middle East on behalf of the American oil and automobile industries to ensure that their profits were maximized. Is McCain going to let them down by leaving earlier than his self-proclaimed 100-year pull out date? The Bush Conspiracy has treated the American people like a bug that it has stepped on without a second thought.

Oh say what you need to say, Scott McClellan. Better late than never. But tell that to the mothers and fathers whose precious sons and daughters heeded the president’s call for patriotism to take up arms to fight and protect the homeland against a threat that never really was all that you, the president’s press secretary, a public servant, made us believe it was. Tell that to those whose sons and daughters will never speak again. You had a chance to say it for them before they paid for your lies with their lives.

Say what you need to say, Comrade. But don’t be surprised if we ask you how to say “Long Live the Republican Communist Party” in Chinese.

What We Need in a President

May 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Let’s face it. Americans act and talk like their president. They adopt many of the behaviors of the president. They take the president’s advice and they adopt the president’s logic and ways of thinking. Everybody thinks they can be president of the United States.

It would seem to follow then that the single most important trait in someone who will be president of the United States is idealism. A president who does not aspire to idealism in his administration of the executive branch is not going to be an effective president. It is that spirit of idealism that sets a moral tone that will guide the nation. The president does not govern the nation. The nation governs itself. That’s why we have governors and mayors and county supervisors and sundry bureaucrats . They’re the ones who manage the nation. It is up to the president to take a moral and strategic view.  He is there to encourage, inspire and motivate Americans to be their best and to do great things in their daily lives. He gets the nation to fulfill its promise as outlined in the Constitution. The president is supposed to be someone who can unite the American spirit and explain to us that our differences are a source of strength, not a weakness. By setting an example for all Americans, the president should remind us to be good and to be proud of our American heritage. In other words, a president should be everything that George W. Bush is not , has never been and never will be. The president needs to be the moral and ethical leader of the nation. We have not had ethical and moral leadership for many years. Bill Clinton failed to inspire people with moral decision making. George W. Bush has been an anti-ethical leader. The white superiority mindset of the Bush Administration has infected the mindset of the nation.

By now most of America has a good sense of the immorality that has been the hallmark of the current administration, a cabal of despots who have betrayed the spirit of the U.S. Constitution. American dignity has been stripped away by the Republican Party, which really can no longer call itself the Party of Lincoln. It has become the Party of Nixon, an impeached president who let his paranoia and distrust of the American people overtake his sense of morality. George W. Bush has faithfully subscribed to Nixon’s low-dignity values. Reagan also was a good Nixonian Republican in that he began the dismantlement of the American middle class without conscience or morals. James Carville, the political strategist who helped Bill Clinton win the White House in 1992, said that the greatest gift that a person can give is his labor. The Republican Party has no respect for labor or the American working class. The Party of Nixon, under George W. Bush, has humiliated American democracy in front of the entire world. It is time for a new way of thinking. It is time for a president who understands ethics and who can lead from a position of morality, goodness and fairness.

It’s time to open up the American presidency to a new generation that can lead and inspire us in the 21st century. The American Century has given way to the Pacific Century and that means China and Japan and Taiwan and South Korea (and hopefully North Korea) and Vietnam and Thailand and the Philippines, and Indonesia (and hopefully Burma). It is time to bring in new blood and new cultural insights at the highest levels of dignity. It’s time for a new line of dignity to represent America in the White House.

If Barack Obama becomes president, this country will start to feel different. Change really will happen and America might actually be able to start functioning as a true world leader in the 21st century sense of the word. As things stand now, we have a nation that has been fighting against a status quo that we have maintained since the nation was founded. Regrettably, we still have not broken out of the chains of racism that hold us down. We need to actualize what Martin Luther King, Jr. had started long ago. No doubt there will be convulsions from racism and resistance to change, change that has been delayed for too long. America needs an exorcism to help it cleanse its soul and open its heart, which is paralyzed by stone-cold indifference to what really matters in life. America needs to come to terms with the fact that it is a nation that discriminates in many, many different ways. It is a nation that discriminates in favor of those who have money and privilege. It is a nation that has perfected the art of discrimination within the framework of a “legal system”.

The Dalai Lama has said that Americans are very smart people but that we need to think more with our hearts. America’s competitive advantage in the world is its moral tone and its adherence to principles of equity and fair play. If America loses its morality, it loses.  And China wins.
